Description

Bed and Breakfast Sylva is located in the quiet district of Prague 8, about 4 km north of the downtown area. Though that may seem far to some, Prague's center can easily be reached in a few minutes using streetcar, bus or subway. A trolley stop is very nearby or if you walk 400 meters you'll get to subway/metro stop "Kobilisy" (line C) and in five stops and a few minutes will find yourself on top of Wenceslas Square at "Muzeum" station (lines A and C). This is a prime spot to start your sightseeing of this wonderful, historic city.

Although there was a price increase effective Jan. 1, 2008, for a 26 crown fare you can hop on the #24 tram and take a cheap sightseeing tour. You'll pass through some of the most picturesque areas including Náměstí republiky (a few meters from the Art Nouveau Municipal House and beginning of the King's Way), through the middle of Wenceslas Square, along Charles Square, Vyšehrad, and into the Southern region of town. The convenient subway stops all along the way are too numerous to mention and the same 26 crown ticket will allow you to transfer to bus or subway without an additional charge.

Though seemingly off the beaten path, Bed and Breakfast Sylva offers an outstanding value for those who do not need to be in Prague’s center. The immediate area is certainly well worth looking into as it’s right next to Troja Botanical Gardens, the Prague zoo and Troja Chateau - one of the lovliest examples of Baroque architecture in Europe.

Bed and Breakfast Sylva provides 7 rooms. All of them have a refrigerator, TV and electric kettle. Descriptions are as follows:

#3 - up to 3 people, shared shower and WC with room #2
#4 - up to 5 people, private bathroom with a bath tub, WC
#5 - up to 3 people, private bathroom with shower and WC
#6, #7 - up to 4 people, balcony with a view of Prague, private bathroom and WC

Room #1 has a street view, the remaining rooms have views into the garden.

Services

Breakfast is available for a small, additional charge. Two garages are at your disposal for 90 crowns a night (additional secure parking available nearby for 200 crowns/night).

There are numerous restaurants in the neighborhood, some of which are open til 5am. You’ll find pizza, fish specialties and of course - authentic Czech food and that wonderful Czech beer.
