Description

Hotel Biskupsky Dum II - The Bishop's House II is also located about 60 meters from the end of Charles Bridge in Prague's historic Lesser Town, on the Vltava river's left bank. It is another building that was erected on the foundations of the former Archbishop's Court, and was originally built as a butcher's shop. During reconstruction in 1723, the house was turned into a residential building. Throughout the centuries, the house had seen multiple renovations. Today's appearance is a result of the last reconstruction carried out in 1816.

Next to late renaissance architectural elements both on the facade and inside the building, one can find baroque ornaments above the windows as well as a typical classicist door with a sun motif. Hotel Biskupsky Dum II is located in the center of the Prague Municipal Historical Conservation area, it lies halfway between Lesser Town Square and the end of Charles bridge. The most recent renovation of the house was finished in the spring of 2001. Both Hotels Biskupsky Dum (a sister hotel) and Biskupsky Dum II are located on Drazickeho Namesti, facing each other at a twenty fivepace distance. They offer pleasant accommodations in a romantic environment with the historical ambience of Old Prague.
