Description

The beautiful Hotel Zlata Hvezda is located in the historic centre of Prague, just a few steps from the main gates of the Prague Castle in Lesser Town. This is on the left bank of the Vltava river, past Charles Bridge and Lesser Town Square, right up famous Nerudova Street. Many of Prague's historical gems are located in this area and once you cross Charles Bridge and arrive in Old Town, you'll easily find the rest.

The first written records of the building date back to 1372. It was then owned by the Mayor of Hradcany, a nearby Prague district. During the next centuries the house changed hands several times. Among others, Czech kings´servants owned the property. In 1723-32 the house underwent a thorough and expansive rebuilding that gave it today's shape. After the most recent reconstruction in May 2000, Hotel Zlata Hvezda (Golden House) reopened its ancient gate to glitter with incomparable beauty. The successful renovation preserves original architectural elements while carefully complimenting them with modern day amenities. Next to the elevator, for example, you'll find a 270 year old staircase.

Room Amenities

The hotel offers double rooms, double rooms for single use and suites. All accommodations have en suite bathrooms with full tub or shower, toilet, bidet and hair dryer. Rooms are equipped with telephones, satellite TV, a mini bar and a safety deposit box. Period furniture is in perfect harmony with the historical atmosphere of the House. Some rooms have a spectacular view of the King's Road and the Prague Castle.

Reception is open 24/7 and offers the usual and above standard services. The hotel restaurant is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and offers excellent Czech, international and vegetarian cuisines.
