Hotel Veronský Dum ****

Description

Hotel Veronsky Dum is located in a picturesque side street in the historical heart of Prague's Lesser Town, about 100 meters from Charles Bridge. It was built in the high Baroque style between 1707 and 1726. At the beginning of the 19th century, an attic floor was added. In the first half of the 20th century the house underwent a series of architectonic changes, including interior modifications and construction of new courtyard additions. This one story building with three wings and a small yard is raised on a rectangular plot. Its high Baroque frontage is embellished with an early Classicist segmented frontispiece and an oval portrait depicting the Virgin Mary and infant between the first floor windows.

Practically all of Prague's important sights are easily accessible on foot or by tram. The nearest subway/metro station "Malostranská" (line A) is just a few hundred meters from the hotel. In two short stops and about as many minutes, it can have you on the bottom of St. Wenceslas Square at "Můstek" station (lines A and B). Once you arrive at Mustek, practically all of Prague's major tourist attractions - with the exception of Lesser Town area where your hotel is - are within one kilometer of each other. Actually, Prague is very small. Your hotel is still only about 1.5 kilometers from the bottom of Wenceslas Square, so walk around and enjoy!

After a complete reconstruction finished in the spring of 2005, the Hotel Veronsky Dum offers visitors comfortable accommodations in 13 double rooms and one apartment. All rooms are equipped with en suite bathrooms featuring a full tub or shower, satellite TV, telephone, a mini bar and a safe. The ground floor rooms in the front addition have preserved their Baroque arches intact, while first floor ceilings are flat. Top floor rooms offer an unforgettable romantic view over Lesser Town's red, ceramic tiled roofs. The small number of rooms permits an individual approach to guests and meetsg even their most demanding requirements.

The hotel has its own breakfast room, café and wine bar. Guests can also enjoy the services of the restaurant at Hotel Biskupsky Dum (a sister hotel) which is only 50 meters away.
